Rangers attempts to sign Carlos Bocanegra from St Etienne have been met with a hard stance by boss Christophe Galtier.
"Rangers may want Carlos but we don't want to sell him, he's under contract to us so we decide whether or not to sell. I don't want to sell him. He's an important member of my team and I want him to stay that way," Galtier said.
Rangers manager Ally McCoist is searching for defensive cover for his team and sees former Fulham man Bocanegra as an ideal replacement for the recently departed Madjid Bougherra. He has a tight deadline for any incoming signings, the Europa League transfer cut off is fast approaching and Rangers are currently suffering quite badly with injuries.
