The Scotland international signed for the club after four years with Burnley, and has spoken of his past succes with Preston and his determination to copy that this time around, "It is exciting times for me and I'm delighted to be back here, so hopefully we can do just as well as we did during my first spell here." he said.
Preston meet fellow League One newcomers Chesterfield this evening, the pair were two divisions apart this time last season and Alexander knows what difficult opponents they will be, "They've obviously come up from the division below and I know from previous experience that sides which have just won promotion have a great bond and team spirit that often carries on into the new season."
