Eastbourne Borough will have to cope without midfielder Gary Charman for up to three weeks as he recovers from a torn calf muscle.
The summer signing from Horsham sustained the injury in Eastbourne's opening day fixture with Farnborough, a game that ended 1-1.
Manager Nick Greenwood said, "Gary played well in the first half on Saturday and did some good defending in the second half when we struggled as a team. It is a shame for him because he only made his debut on Saturday and now he is out for a few games."
Greenwood has a few options when deciding on cover for Charman. Either Eddie Hutchinson or Ollie Rowe could take his place in the next fixture.
