Simon Whaley, the former Preston midfielder has signed for Chorley.
Starting his career as a youngster at Bury, Whaley had short spells at Barnsley, Norwich, Rochdale, Bradford, Chesterfield and Burton Albion but it was at Preston North End where he played the bulk of his football. Appearing in over 120 games for the Lancashire club he scored 14 goals in a three year spell.
Whaley made his Magpies debut last night in the 6-0 thumping of Frickley Athletic.
