BLACKPOOL FC: INCE LOOKS TO SHINE

Tom Ince hopes to show the Blackpool fans what he has in his locker when the Seasiders face Sheffield Wednesday this evening.

The 19-year-old winger, who recently joined the club from Liverpool, looks set to start in the Carling Cup as a number of squad players look to stake claims.

Having settled in well to life at Bloomfield Road, he now hopes to excel playing the exciting brand of football that Ian Holloway has implemented.

"I watched Blackpool in the Premier League last season and they really went for it, even against the top four," he said. "The gaffer likes quick, attacking players so the way that Blackpool play suits me down to the ground. I just want to push into the first-team and play the football that we do and score goals.

"Obviously it's close to home so I don't have to travel too far. I've enjoyed it a lot and the gaffer and the lads have been very welcoming to me. Hopefully I'll keep enjoying it and keep pushing on each week."

The tie at Hillsborough represents a great opportunity for a number of the new signings to shine, with the likes of Angel Martinez and Craig Sutherland also set to feature.

"We've got quite a big squad and plenty of competition for places so it would be nice to have a Carling Cup run, especially for the lads that aren't in the first 11.It should be an exciting game and hopefully we can come away with a win and I can show the Blackpool fans what I'm all about," he added.

The draw for the next round of the Carling Cup will take place immediately after the game.
