Despite rejecting the offer of a new contract, goalkeeper Shwan Jalal has revealed his intent to remain at Bournemouth after this season.
"I never asked to leave Bournemouth. I never once hinted that I'm not interested in staying. I just felt that the contract that was being offered wasn't agreeable to me," the 28 year old said.
Jalal, who lost his place in the starting lineup this season to Darryl Flahavan who signed for the Cherries after his Portsmouth contract expired in the summer, is unsure on what his future holds, "I haven't spoken to the club any further about staying. To me the door isn't closed, it's from the chairman's side that the talks are unlikely to re-open. I've supported the club through every kick this season despite being on the bench, and if I'm called upon then I'll give it 150%."
It is understood that Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has circulated Jalal's name to other clubs in the hope of getting him off the wage bill.
