LEICESTER CITY: FERNANDES LEAVES FOXES EARLY

Gelson Fernandes has left Leicester City and returned to his parent club St Etienne.

It was reported last week that the two clubs were looking to come to an agreement on the midfielder's future after he had seen his first team opportunities dry up under new manager Nigel Pearson.

The 25 year old made eighteen appearances for the Foxes, scoring once.

LEICESTER CITY: FERNANDES WANTS OUT

Leicester City have confirmed that midfielder Gelson Fernandes has requested that his loan spell be cut short.

The 25 year old signed on a season long loan from Saint Etienne in the summer, but since the departure of former boss Sven Goran Eriksson in October he has struggled for first team opportunities.

A statement from the Championship side read, "The club will make every effort to facilitate this request subject to mutual cancellation terms being agreed with both parties."
