WEYMOUTH FC: TERRAS ACCUSE MATCH OFFICIAL

Weymouth have asked the Football Association to take action against the match official in their clash with AFC Totton who 'manhandled' defender Sam Poole.

The Terras' youth graduate was eventually sent off in the game, along with three other players, but Weymouth have accused the assistant referee of running a fair distance to lay his hands on the player.

A spokesman for the club said, "We are going to send evidence to the FA because we believe one of the assistant referees assaulted Sam Poole. We have video footage that shows he ran 45 yards and manhandled Sam during the incident involving Craig Duff and Michael Gosney."

The game ended 4-2 in AFC Totton's favour, with Weymouth down to 8 men and Totton down to 10.

The club are awaiting a response from the FA.

  1. This incident was to do with the assistant referee but the other problem was the Ref it was David Spain who was the guy who sent off Ashley Vickers for taking out the idiot in the Mankini, which was of course reversed later. All the officials were unable to cope with this game, they were well under par and the club are right to take this matter further.
