WEST HAM: MORE WOES FOR BENTLEY

Following on from news earlier today that David Bentley would be forced to sit on the sidelines for two months because of a knee injury, it has been confirmed that six months is nearer the mark.

The 27 year old had returned to his parent club Tottenham Hotspur from his loan spell with West Ham to receive treatment for the problem but after surgery it has been revealed that he won't be back in action until April at the earliest.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce was disappointed for the midfielder, "It is a great shame for David as he had settled in well to the squad."

Bentley had made five appearances in his temporary switch with West Ham.
