The 30 year old has been struggling with the injury for the past few weeks but without a definite diagnosis manager Tommy Warrilow has been wary about using him on matchday.
"I haven't wanted to use him without knowing whether if it could possibly do him some damage and ruin any recovery. It'll be good for him and us to have the scan and find out if anything's wrong."
