STIRLING ALBION: BINOS ISSUE STATEMENT

Stirling Albion have issued a statement in response to an article in the Herald newspaper.

Their reaction follows a story about complimentary tickets and according to the Binos included fabricated quotes from a former director at the club.

"It [the Herald article] refers to complimentary tickets having been scrapped to cut costs and is embellished with a comment attributed to Mr Goodwin that, "On three occasions referees complained that they weren't getting their free tickets. Maybe it was just a coincidence but in two of those games we had a player sent off."

The statement continued to add, "The fact of the matter is that there was a single instance where the club declined to afford a referee complimentary tickets, not realising that we were required by SFA Rule to do so. The matter was rectified immediately upon being drawn to our attention and all referees have since been given access to complimentary tickets should they wish them."

It's not currently known was response if any the newspaper will issue.
