SCUNTHORPE UNITED FC: BYRNE BACK IN TRAINING

Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill has revealed that defender Cliff Byrne has been given the all clear by medical staff at Glanford Park.

The left back has been out of action for the Iron since January after sustaining a back injury but Knill expects him to return to training soon.

"The specialist told Cliff that, if anything, he is in front of where he should be. He's given him the greenlight to begin full training again and that's probably the best thing for him."

"He'll be back in training with us on Thursday and I'm delighted about that."
