PETERBOROUGH FC: POSH RECALL BALL

David Ball has been recalled from his loan spell with Rochdale.

The 21 year old had scored four goals in six games for Dale but Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson has decided to cut the striker's three month loan spell short to give Ball a shot at breaking into the first team.

"I knew it [the loan spell] would be beneficial for me because I know the manager Steve Eyre there from my time at Manchester City and I knew he would play a similar style to the gaffer at Peterborough."

"The month was enjoyable, but my focus now is trying to get into the first team at Peterborough. This is a good opportunity for me. I feel I am capable of playing in this team week in, week out now, but it is up to me to show that in training and in the matches."

Ball moved to the Posh in January but has struggled to hold down a consistent starting position, he will now look to out muscle the strike partnership of Emile Sinclair and Paul Taylor.
