LEEDS UNITED: NO EXTRA POLICE FOR DERBY DAY

South Yorkshire Police say there will be no extra officers in place for the Yorkshire derby between Leeds United and Doncaster Rovers on Friday evening.

A spokesperson for the force said they were not expecting any trouble at the match and it would be policed like a "normal high profile fixture."

The game is being aired live by Sky Sports which may go someway to explaining the reduced number of officers expected to be in attendance. Sgt Steve Butler told the South Yorkshire Times, "We didn't get any trouble the last time Rovers played Leeds so we're hoping things will be the same this time around."

"We are working closely with pub watch and additional door staff will be working on the afternoon and into the evening on match day."
