The young right-back, a summer signing from Everton, has impressed in his few appearances so far this season and manager Simon Grayson has moved quickly to tie him down for a longer period.
"Zac has made an impression since he's been here. He had a good pre-season, he got himself involved on merit, and not only did he play a part, he impressed in what he did and how he went about things."
The 18 year old is currently recovering from an ankle injury.
