DUMBARTON FC: NEW ASSISTANT BOSS RARING TO GO

Jack Ross is keen to get started in his role as the new number two at Scottish Second Division side Dumbarton.

The 35 year old only called time on his playing career at the end of the previous season following a knee injury, but has decided to get straight back into the swing of things as assistant boss with the Sons.

"I'm really looking forward to it. I'm delighted to get the opportunity to be involved in this aspect of the game. It's something I've been desperate to do. I finished my A licence in the summer and if I'm honest, getting the chance to come in and help Alan [Adamson, Dumbarton manager] is more than I expected."

Ross' debut in charge has been delayed following the postponement of Dumbarton's clash with Albion Rovers, but is expected to take his position in the dugout against Stenhousemuir on October 15th.
