The 31 year old has been without a club since his Sheffield Wednesday contract expired in the summer but now has a second chance with the Alex.
"Richard Hinds is back training with us and it is something Neil [Baker, assistant manager] has sorted out with him. We told him before that if he was free then we would take another look at him and that is what we will do."
