COVENTRY CITY: THORN HOPING FOR CLINGAN STAY

Coventry City boss Andy Thorn says he hopes skipper Sammy Clingan will sign a new deal with the club when he returns from international duty with Northern Ireland.

The 27 year old's current contract will expire at the end of the season and Thron is keen for the midfielder to put pen to paper on the new deal the club have offered him.

"We are hoping that Sammy takes it. He's the cog in our wheel if you like, and I am looking forward to having him back after the international break because I know he's desperate to do well and get us going again."

Clingan was handed the captain's armband by Thorn at the start of the season, he has been an ever present for City this season.
