It was all square at half time with goals from Wayne Riley for Northwich on 26 minutes and an instant equaliser from Mark Beesley just after the restart.

Michael Clarke scored late in the game to make it 2–1, charging down a free kick from the Burscough goalkeeper. Another quick goaled followed that with Nathan Woolfe getting in on the act just before the full time whistle.
