STAFFORD RANGERS: DOUGLAS FORCED OUT

Mike Douglas has left Evo Stik Northern Premier side Stafford Rangers after a change in his circumstances.

The midfielder has been asked, by his full time employers, to help run a local football team, something that will rule him out of Rangers' matchday squad.

Manager Greg Clowes was sad to hear of Douglas' decision, "Mike is probably the most consistent player I have ever worked with and, respect wise, he ranks very highly as well."

"Within his job, he's been asked to run a disabled football team that play on Saturdays and Tuesdays in a proper league. I know that's something he's quite keen to do and I understand his reasons completely, but I am still devastated that he's decided to leave."

Despite Clowes' disappointment at Douglas' departure, he has moved quicky to fill the gap left in his absence. Leek Town midfielder Michael Morton has agreed a deal with the Marston Road club and should slot straight into the squad for their clash with Chester tomorrow.
