The 24 year old sustained the damage to his knee during the home game with Colchester at the weekend and medical staff don't expect him to return to action until December at the earliest.
The news follows on from the revelations yesterday that midfielder Michael Collins will also be missing in the Iron's starting lineup as they travel to Sheffield United at the weekend.
