SCUNTHORPE UNITED FC: GODDEN OUT UNTIL NEW YEAR

Scunthorpe United striker Matt Godden will miss the next three months of action after undergoing scans to determine the extent of an injury that has kept him out of the first team all season.

The twenty year old, currently in his third year as a pro footballer with the Iron, hasn't featured all season, and reports on the club's official website say a combination of a hip complaint and a hernia are preventing him from playing.

"The hip problem just happened on the pitch. He fell over in the warm up for the Newcastle match [August 25th] and he hasn't been the same since. So we sent him for a scan only to find out he has a hernia as well. Realistically it's looking like January before we can even think about him being available." Manager Alan Knill said.
