The 33 year old only signed for the Blue Square North side in March but could not be guaranteed consistent first team football.
Chairman Ian Neale said, "Richard wanted to play games at this stage of his career, he has no issues with the club, and it is simply football that he has moved on. I must add that Richard has been a total professional whilst at the club, he is a great character to have around."
Lavery has since re-joined his former club Hinckley United.
