The twenty year old only signed for the Stags in the summer after his Tranmere Rovers contract expired but has seen his chances limited since the arrival on loan of Bury's Ben Futcher.
Wood made just one appearance for Mansfield, coming off the bench in their second league fixture of the season against Gateshead.
