The 22 year old former Southampton youngster has moved to the Blue Square Premier side on a three month deal and made his debut for the club half way through the second half of their clash with Newport County on Tuesday.
Rovers boss Dave Hockaday was familiar with the player following his days working at the Saints youth academy.
"Jake is a good player and another one who has got lost in the system. He is very quick, provides good delivery and has great feet, and I told him to come on and show me hunger."
Thomson only moved to Kettering last month but made just a couple of appearances before leaving on loan.
