Matt Johnson has seen his contract with Blue Square South side Dover Athletic, terminated by mutual consent.
The 21 year old only signed for the Whites in the summer but has had his contract cancelled due to lack of first team action.
Manager Martin Hayes spoke about the decision, "Matt was unhappy about not playing more regularly. He has had his contract mutually cancelled and we wish him all the best for the future."
Upon signing for Dover in June, Hayes rebuffed reports that suggested the midfielder had moved to the club because of their offer of high wages, "It's great that Matt is joining us for the right reasons, which is ambition, not money. Isn't it great that there are players out there still where money is not their first port of call?"
Braintree Town, the Blue Square Premier new boys, have now confirmed the signing of Johnson on a free transfer.
