Crewe boss Dario Gradi has decided not to offer trialist Brodie Mooy a contract at the club.
The 21 year old midfielder had been training with the League Two side for the past two weeks and featured for the reserve squad today in their game against Wigan Athletic, but Gradi thinks he is too similar to what he already has at the club.
"He is a decent player and a good lad. He is a sensible and intelligent boy but he's very similar to Jordan [Connerton]. If we were to take him then we would just be adding numbers to the squad and we are looking for something different to improve us."
Mooy currently plays for New South Wales Premier League side Parramatta FC.
